XXVIII RUSSIAN ANTIQUE SALON
On February, 27, XXVIII Russian Antique Salon opens its doors at the Central House of Artists.
On the threshold of spring holidays over 200 leading Russian antique galleries present to the visitors’ judgment all variety of collecting items: works of Russian and foreign-school artists – painters, graphic masters, miniaturists, arts and crafts masters. Beside traditional collecting items, such as Russian painting of 19th century, antique furniture, bronze and porcelain, one can see “younger” trends, for example, glyptic (engraving on precious stones), ancient picture-frames and fabrics, design bijouterie of 20th century and others.
Organizers of the Antique Salon follow the permanent policy of overall development of Russian antique market. It includes both thematic variety and quality of offered antiques and civilized art-trade practice. It is difficult to underestimate the role of Antique Salon in this process. Due to activity of Expert Council, which includes the most authoritative experts in the related fields, the Salon acquired the status of “board of experts” and provides “quality mark” for market players, thus ensuring the development of antique field and the rise of public interest to it.
